The Internet’s Own Boy: Aaron Swartz

This well-regarded film depicts the life of American child prodigy, computer programmer, writer, political organizer, and Internet activist Aaron Swartz. As a programmer, Swartz helped develop the web feed format RSS, the technical architecture for Creative Commons, the website framework web.py, and the lightweight markup language format Markdown. Swartz was involved in developing the social news aggregation website Reddit until he departed from the company in 2007. The film is narrated by figures from Swartz’s life, including his mother, brothers, and girlfriends. Swartz was an internet hacker and activist who allegedly committed suicide while in custody and under extreme pressure from the U.S. government, who intended to prosecute him for a crime where he meant no harm and sought to make no money. Some believe Swartz was murdered. He was 26 years old.

  1. I hope his friends, family and colleagues realize Aaron was murdered by the deep state. These are vicious communists who have taken over Intelligence, the Democrats and the entire government bureaucracy. We have one more chance to end them all. We must take it. Prayer. We must cry out to the LORD. And then get up and do what we are called to do.
