Fashion designer Kate Spade was found dead in her Manhattan apartment by her maid on June 5th, 2018. Her demise was ruled a “suicide” by hanging with a red scarf. Police reported that she had left a note addressed to her daughter. It read: “Bea – I have always loved you. This is not your fault. Ask Daddy!” A police source said that before her suicide, Andy Spade had asked his wife for a divorce and moved into a nearby apartment. A day before Kate was found, the sister of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Inés Zorreguieta, died under the same modus operandi. Four days later, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain was found hanging with a belt from a doorknob.
