Running With The Devil: John McAfee

The life and death of software pioneer John McAfee, a British-American computer programmer, businessman, and two-time presidential candidate who sought the Libertarian Party nomination for president of the United States in 2016 and in 2020. John wrote the first commercial anti-virus software in 1987, named after himself. He resided for several years in Belize but returned to the U.S. in 2013 while wanted for questioning on suspicion of murder. In October 2020, John was arrested in Spain over U.S. tax evasion charges and was finally murdered on June 23, 2021, while in custody. He was found dead due to an apparent suicide by hanging in his prison cell near Barcelona shortly after the Spanish National Court authorized his extradition to the U.S. McAfee’s wife, Janice McAfee, said she did not believe McAfee died by suicide.
