The Man Who Knew Too Much is a documentary by Michael Oswald about Colin Wallace a former Military Intelligence Officer involved in psychological operations in Northern Ireland. Wallace spread fake news, created a witchcraft scare, smeared politicians, and attempted to divide and create conflict among communities, organizations, and individuals as part of a Disinformation War in Northern Ireland. He fell out with sections of the British intelligence community, he was framed for murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison. What is extremely interesting about his story is that the psyops strategies he implemented 40-50 years ago are still relevant today. This is especially noteworthy in the light of fake news, conspiracy theories, and social media making it even that much easier to confuse, redirect, and misinform people on purpose to hide a bigger, more sinister agenda.
